Five teachers represent Indonesia in the Microsoft Educator Exchange held in Budapest, Hungary. The number of representatives is an increase from as many as three representatives last year. These teachers come from various levels of school and regions.
Microsoft Vice President Anthony Salcito said to Kompas journalist Bambang Sigap in Budapest on Wednesday (3/9) said the company continued to extend the involvement of teachers in this Educator Exchange, particularly for those who came from fast-growing regions like Indonesia. It was expected to raise ideas and innovations related to the utilization of Microsoft Windows for education.
As a Microsoft Vice President who was responsible for education, Anthony Salcito felt responsible to give attention to regions or countries that had a big market opportunity, such as Indonesia. He expected teachers and principals were able to face current fast changes and develop education communities familiar to advanced technology.
Microsoft Indonesia Learning Manager Obert Hoesanto said this year four teachers were selected out of dozens of project proposals submitted to Microsoft.
They are Neny Else Yosephine (state senior high school SMAN 2 Surabaya, East Java), Fita Sukiyani (state elementary school SDN Sumber 1, Berbah, Sleman DI Yogyakarya), Amiroh Adnan (state vocational high school SMKN 3 Jombang, East Java) and Eko Purwanto (state elementary school SDN Wonokerto, Magelang, Central Java). Another participant from Indonesia, Andri Wahyu Pradhana from state junior high school SMPN 6 Ponorogo, is invited as a Microsoft fellow.
